Foodies
must have a passion for sweets in order to qualify as true enthusiasts. You
might not be able to complete the circle of foodie-ness without tasting the
euphoria of a sweet snack. While foodies in Lahore and Karachi have an
abundance of options to choose from for a sweet fix, Islamabad’s have to settle
for the limited dessert outlets available. However, there is nothing entirely
wrong with limited options. However, there is nothing entirely wrong with
limited options. The reason for this is that practically anything I desire (at
least) is easily available, a fact fueled by excellent quality. You will find
everything from regular ice cream to molten lava cake in Islamabad, from bread
pudding to ice cream!
So
this week, I decided to share most favorite dessert places in the city and why
everyone should try them as often as I do!
Hot Spot
An
old train bogey has been converted into an ice cream shop! There has been no
change to the name and tradition of the Hot Spot being the number one dessert
place in Islamabad. This place offers a variety of ice cream, desserts, and
drinks with combos to further tantalize your taste buds. The place has a unique
ambience and offers great choices; it's one of Islamabad's best places to hang
out with friends and family. During my recent visit to Islamabad, I visited my
favorite ice cream shop after many years. There is a wide variety of regular
and premium flavors. Desserts and drinks are available in a variety of flavors.
The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating. There are three types of
banana caramels: salted caramel, strawberry cheesecake, and banana caramel. All
of them are delicious. The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable, with some
mouthwatering flavors and options for you to pick.
Cold Stone Creamery
Cold
Stone Creamery is a relatively new entrant to Pakistan's ice-cream industry,
but this American chain has been around since 1988. Cold Stone Creamery
specializes in making ice cream on site and tailoring it to the customer's
preferences. Top three favorites
would be Peanut Butter Cup Perfection (i.e. chocolate ice-cream with peanut
butter and Reese peanut butter cup and fudge), Founder’s Favorite (i.e. sweet
oce-cream with pecans, brownie, fudge and caramel) and Strawberry Banana
Rendezvous (i.e. Strawberry ice-cream with Graham Cracker pie crust, white
chocolate chip, strawberries and banana). Rather than calling their ice creams "ice
cream," they call it "Creation." And once you taste their
creations, you'll agree that they are stunning. It was a well-decorated place with a really friendly staff.
Verdict: Those who are trying it
for the first time might like it if it's properly frozen. You shouldn't keep your hopes up if you
already had it overseas
Kaspas
Desserts
The king of desserts is
indeed Kaspas. Located in Islamabad, this restaurant specializes in desserts
and does an excellent job. In both cases, the service and food were
outstanding. There is nothing better than deserts. There was ice cream, cheese
cake, pancakes, and hot cookies. Kaspas offers a wide variety of desserts to
satisfy your sugar craving. Their menu mainly consists of gelato ice cream,
waffles, pancakes, crepes, cakes and brownies, as well as a variety of shakes
and drinks including good coffee. They are open until 0200are. Their customer
service agents are also very polite and friendly. Desserts are priced between
PKR 100 and PKR 3,000.
Marble Slab Creamery
Marble Slab Creamery began its story in
Houston, Texas in 1983. We started with an unusually high set of standards and
a goal to bring the exquisite taste of fresh-made gourmet ice cream to fellow
aficionadas. Our recipe for Sweet Cream ice cream was developed by two French
chefs; and it is that recipe that we use to this day! This dedication to a
gourmet ice cream experience led to the development of the now famous
"frozen slab" technique for ice cream preparation.

cream onto a marble slab, where the ice cream is skillfully blended with your
choice of fruits, nuts, and candies, and placed in a waffle cone of your
choice. You'll probably want to repeat this as often as possible! It's not just
dessert. The freshest ice cream in the world, made just the way you like it,
when you want it.
Baskin
Robbins
For
those unfamiliar with Baskin Robbins (really?), it's a company based in the U.S
that produces 31 unique flavors of ice cream. This includes their iconic mint
chocolate chip, very berry strawberry, and jamoca. There are some flavors that
remain constant, but there are also seasonal flavors that come and go. There is
no doubt that Baskin Robbins is the ice cream expert, the best in the world. The
company is now in Pakistan (Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad) and I visited their
Islamabad branch today. It was beautifully decorated with a pink and purple
theme with comfortable furniture; staff was very friendly and let me try all
the flavors. It is with the idea that the customer will try out different
products every day during the month. If you're looking for a perfect dessert to
increase your mood, Baskin Robbins desserts are the best! Vanilla ice-cream
that I ordered online was delicious. I find the pricing to be a little bit
high. However, the food and packaging quality are worth it. In my opinion, a
balanced diet should include a dessert in each hand.
